Spec, research, test before code, and work that accumulates capability are standard software engineering. With agents, what changes is the cost of not doing them. Before, teams that skipped these practices paid in human rework. Now they pay with a system that produces a lot, fast, without anyone being able to say whether it is right, because the agent accelerates the process it finds, whether good or bad.
